HDMI runs out of road long before a building does. Past about 25 feet a passive cable starts dropping handshakes, and the fix is not a longer cable — it is to stop sending HDMI down copper as HDMI at all. This kit converts the signal to HDBaseT, sends it over a single ordinary Cat6 run, and converts it back at the display.

Reach depends on what you are sending, and it is worth being precise: 4K60 travels up to 131ft (40m), and 1080p up to 230ft (70m) over one Cat6/6a/7 cable. If you need 4K at the full 230ft, step up to the 230ft long-range kit or the HDBaseT 3.0 kit. Within its range this one carries 18Gbps with 4:4:4 colour, 10-bit HDR pass-through, HBR audio, and CEC bypass so the display still responds to the source’s power and volume commands.

Two practical details matter on site. PoC means the pair powers over the same cable, so only one end needs a socket — which is usually the difference between a clean install and an extension lead taped to a ceiling. And two-way IR and RS-232 ride along the same run, so a control system or a handheld remote still reaches equipment at the far end.
