Product details
A splitter sends one thing everywhere. A switcher sends one of several things to one place. A matrix does neither and both: any of four sources to any of four displays, each output routed independently and changed on the fly. It is the point at which a video system stops being a cable run and starts being something you operate.
All four outputs carry 4K60 at 18Gbps with 4:4:4 colour, and each one can downscale 4K to 2K on its own — so a 1080p display in the corner does not force the whole matrix down to its level. Fast switching keeps the cut between sources quick rather than leaving a black screen while handshakes renegotiate, and audio is de-embedded per output for zoned sound.
Control is the part that matters once it is installed. Front panel buttons for the person standing at the rack, IR for the remote, RS-232 for a control processor, and TCP/IP with a built-in web GUI for everyone else — including whoever has to reroute the room from a phone five minutes before a meeting starts.
Feeding an LED video wall?
This unit is the front end of a much bigger picture. Every LED wall we ship needs a clean, stable source path in front of the receiving cards — and the cost of the electronics is a rounding error next to the screen itself. If you are specifying signal gear because a wall is coming, talk to us before you buy the boxes: we will size the whole chain and quote the display with it.
